Oh baby...we have a BABY!!!!!!

Oh my goodness!!!  We are parents!  Words can't express what an amazing, emotional journey we have been on the last 10 days.  Our sweet angel is 10 days old today.  He's absolutely amazing...he's a miracle...he's our beautiful angel...we are in love.  Okay, so let me start with Day 1....after a pic of course

We left the house for the hospital Monday 1/28 around 9:30am...off we went, to deliver our angel (I'm already getting emotional just writing about that day).  I was emotional that morning in the car, just thinking about what was to come...we were having a baby...one of the most amazing life experiences was only momens away from happening...to us...  (yep, tears are now flowing).  We get to the hospital and got checked in, waited about 30 minutes and then they came and got us.  We went back into the pre-op area.  They started my IV and put the monitor around my belly so we could hear the baby's heartbeat.  It was nuts b/c when I would get excited/nervous the baby's heartrate would increase significantly and when I was calm so was he.  We hung out for a while, the Dr said it'd be around 1:15 when we would head back for the c-section.  E.J. was starving so he ran to grab a bite to eat.  Pat had showed up at the hospital (step-mom) so while he was out she came in and sat with me.

Well, it was finally time....1:15!  E.J. got back in the room and we were ready to roll!  E.J. got dressed and they rolled me out of the pre-op into the OR.  Boy I was nervous!!!  They made E.J. wait in the waiting room until they got my spinal tap done, which took SEVERAL tries...goodness, not too fun:(  Once that was done my Dr arrived...he's the best Dr ever! I am so glad he was recommended to me.  He defintely made me feel more comfortable while E.J. was not there.  Finally E.J. was able to come back in and they were ready to operate!!  Oh my gosh...I can't even explain the emotions.  I was nervous and excited and scared....  E.J. was amazing.  He stood beside me and said all the right things (what guy does that?).  I smelt something burning (my skin!) and asked "Is that my skin?" and E.J. said "No." lol!  Funny thing is...I believed him!  Well, after that they started to push the baby out so to speak.  There was a lady that was pressing down on my upper belly, where my lungs are and I thought I was going to suffocate!  I couldn't really breathe! (Side note: I just had to take 30 minutes away b/c Emil woke up. I changed him...he pooped and peed on me and then fed him.  Now he's in my lap sleeping...should still be eating but he's "done" for the moment.)  Anyway, I couldn't breathe...it was not easy and E.J. just kept telling me I was doing so good.  Finally they said they had the head and were about to pull him out of my belly:)  E.J. was videoing so it's all on tape!  They pulled him out and OH MY GOODNESS....I heard the baby crying and E.J. just saying "Oh my gosh, that's our son...."  Tears rolled down my face...I was just so happy.  They cleaned up the baby, E.J. cut the cord and then he brought him over to me.  When he did, Emil opened his eyes for the first time.  Again, tears just rolled and rolled...Ahhhh.  That moment.  A moment that will NEVER escape my memory.  I have never felt closer to my husband.  After I was stiched up they let me hold our son and then we went back to the pre-op room.  We were there for about 1 1/2 hours together as a little family.  I think I was kindof in a little bit of a dreamland...  Again, it was a special moment for our little family of 3.  We then went to our room and were greeted by some family.  My mom, nany and sisters were there...and then more visitors came..my dad, Pat, Apryl, Krystle, Josh, David (E.J.'s brother), Bill and some other friends/family.  I felt a little funky all afternoon from the medicine and then I felt sick to my stomach so they gave me the strong medicine and that basically knocked me out...but I tried to stay up.  It was just such an emotional wonderful day.  Tuesday and Wednesday we were there and had several visits popping in, which was great:) The new daddy was such a hard worker while we were there, taking care of us:)  He was going home each night for a few hours to work around the house and get some things straightened up.  He's such a good husband....I'm so thankful to have him.  Thursday we were headed home.  E.J. took us home and we had a few visitors that evening.  I was so tired though I fell asleep with the baby and called it a night.

So, we're home and we're new parents!  We're just trying to get into the swing of things!  We have no schedule and I'm feeding the baby on demand but things are going well.  I have such an amazing husband that is really helping me out so I'm able to sleep at night more.  Two nights ago I slept for probably 10 hours, E.J. just woke me up to feed the baby but that was it...it was amazing:)  He's a great husband and dad!  I am blessed.

Well, need to get back to my little munchkin, I've had to take several breaks writing this to take care of him:)  He's sleeping again... ;)  Well, check back!  I'll be updating periodically:)

25 weeks...Oh Baby:)

Well, I must admit I've gotten really bad at doing my blog!  I've forgotten the last two weeks...so I'm posting a day late but hey...I'm posting!  So, happy 25 week mark!  This past week was a really good week!  We worked around the house, got our new flooring in (YAY!), carved pumpkins and I had a good work week, which just topped everything off!  I worked in the baby's room and have a bunch of stuff boxed up now and ready for storage, things are coming along!  Happy Halloween!!!:)  It's our first year not going crazy with decorations but we're still going to dress up, scare kids & pass out candy:)  Should be a good time! •How far along?: 25 weeks! •Baby is the size of a: Large Eggplant, 2lbs •Total weight gain/loss: 14lbs. at 22+2 •The Bump: Everybody loves it...they're drawn to it:) •Symptoms: Thankfully this week my only symptom has been my bump and the movement inside it:)  My emotions have simmered down...Praise ...

Something worth Celebrating!

Well, as it happens to most families with young children that start school, our family got the sick bug. We've all had it but Ritter is the OG, the one who contacted the cold and shared it with the rest of us. I started feeling bad Friday and am finally feeling better, almost like my normal self, TODAY! So, I celebrate! Seriously, why not? I am a working mom! I'm running an entire household and I've been sick! That is NO FUN! Like, none. And, sidenote, I think mom's shouldn't be allowed to get sick. Just sayin'. I celebrate because I have felt terrible the last few days (and, as most moms do, felt terrible that I felt terrible- which is annoying- why do we do that?!) and NOW- FINALLY- I'm feeling better! Good enough to refocus on my schedule, goals and recognize all that I can accomplish! Yes! I celebrate.  But why do I share this with you? Well, because I feel like, as women, we mostly are getting on to ourselves, putting ourselves down, feeling guilt...

Simply happy.....

Over the past year we have worked really hard to make things happen.... I am feeling so accomplished at this time because things are really starting to pan out. This is a great feeling... Not only that but I have really grown to realize over the past few years how incredibly blessed I am. I have always been a very thankful person but as I grow older I become even more thankful... I have an absolutely amazing husband. He loves me so much....I know that. I'm really lucky to have him in my life... I know he will always stand beside me and love me with all his heart. I have a wonderful family... there are so many people in my family and not many people can say that. They are all really great people and I love the close bond that we share... I am so blessed...yet again. Finally, I have great friends. They are loving, caring people. Although I have been extremely busy this summer and haven't been able to spend as much time with them we still are close and I love them al...
